Veteran-Founded
Our Mission
DEFY was founded on a simple belief: the best fitness programs in the world shouldn't cost $150/month or require a commercial gym. They should be accessible, methodologically sound, and built for real people with real lives.
We built DEFY because we couldn't find a program that combined functional fitness methodology, Starting Strength principles, and a genuine understanding of what veterans and tactical athletes actually need — at a price that doesn't require a second job.
"The hardest battle is often fought before you start. Show up anyway."
DEFY Core Philosophy
What We Stand For
Motivation is temporary. Discipline is a system. DEFY is built on the principle that showing up — even when you don't feel like it — is the only thing that matters.
Every session has a purpose. Functional fitness methodology for conditioning. Starting Strength principles for the barbell. 6-week periodized blocks. Nothing is random.
From zero equipment to full barbell setup. From beginners to competitive athletes. DEFY's 5-tier system means no one gets left behind because of what they have — or don't have.
DEFY was built by veterans, for veterans. But our mission extends to anyone who carries that same ethos: show up, do the work, no excuses.
Programming Credentials
Our conditioning methodology follows functional fitness principles — functional movements, constantly varied, high intensity.
Strength work follows Mark Rippetoe's Starting Strength model — linear progression on the big compound lifts, tier-adapted for every equipment level.
Periodized programming in 6-week blocks: 4 weeks building, 1 week deload, 1 week reset and retest. Measurable progress, built in.
